It has been so long since I have been able to access this website, it is driving me mad! I have been unable to work on my site because of a faulty monitor on the laptop I have been using. Of course, it takes forever and a day to get anything like that fixed, and I apologize to anyone who has been anxiously awaiting more news and more images. The problem is still not fixed entirely, but I am hoping it will be by Monday at the latest. Please be patient, and email me with any concerns.

Our trip to Colorado was a lot of fun! We did all kinds of outdoor activities, which allowed me to get quite a few shots of the gorgeous Colorado scenery. So far, there are several to look at on the outdoor gallery, but I am off to Rhode Island to get even more pictures. When I get back there will be even more photos to upload, so there will be lots of work to do. Be sure to check back to see all the amazing sites we saw in CO!
I am happy to report that the bride and groom were satisfied with the results of my work at their wedding! I received a great letter as a testimonial that I will share with you. (Its always nice to get positive feedback.)
Dear Melissa,
| We cannot thank you enough for the incredible photographs you took of our special day. What a wonderful surprise to return from our honeymoon and find your package waiting for us. We were able to look at the pictures right away and relive one of the best days of our lives. You captured every moment that we cherish and your work completely reflects the mood of the day in elegance and unique artistry. I advise anyone seeking a quality wedding photographer with a smile, a comforting presence and the ability to bounce around the room without "making a scene" to choose YOU. You are a great person and an incredible, natural photographer. Best of luck to you and from the bottom of our hearts thank you once again. |
Sincerely,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Duperre
It is such a wonderful feeling to know that I was able to help out and be part of such a special day. I hope there are more weddings in the future, because it truly was a pleasure.

A beautiful setting on a lake in Cape Cod made for great pictures and for a fun time at my first wedding as a photographer. Although it was my first wedding, it was easy to get a good feel for where I needed to be and for me to feel comfortable with the families. Everyone was very kind and lots of fun as well. For a sample of some of the photos I took at the wedding, visit the brand new wedding gallery. Since they are from someone's special day, the images are for a sample only. Any feedback will be gratefully accepted!
An upcoming trip to Colorado and then Rhode Island should provide some excellent opportunities for some pix. Be sure to check back!

Another new addition to my collection of expensive necessities, the Speedlite 580EX Flash, has arrived today! There are many numerous functions that I have yet to explore and understand yet, but I am sure this will make my photographic experiences, and hopefully yours, much more exciting.

My new camera arrived in the mail last week, and I have had a few chances to review the features. There are so many ways to take advantage of all the functions this camera is equipped with. I have a family portrait coming up, as well as a wedding next month. I am anxious to see what this new equipment is capable of. . . check back to see new images uploaded.
This past week,
I have been putting the finishing touches on my website. I was trying to set up a shopping cart feature, but the logistics are more complicated than I had anticipated since there are so many variables with the print selection that change the pricing. I signed up for a PayPal account which allows me to collect payment for items that customers would like to purchase in a secure way. All the customer has to do is email me with their selections and choices and I can send an invoice which will have a link to send secure payment. PayPal allows me to accept all major credit cards, and relieves me of any contact with the sensitive information that is required. I have also created an online shop which offers some of the items available and is located at www.cafepress.com/melifeli. I am hoping that these features will encourage people to support me and purchase items that they will enjoy.

New equipment has been purchased! I recently added the Canon EOS 20D to my camera arsenal. This digital SLR is sure to be a much more efficient and professional camera compared with my Canon PowerShot Pro 1. The PowerShot was a nice stepping stone for me to finally break into digital photography, but I felt limited by the fact that it was not an SLR. Expect an update once I actually receive the camera in the mail. Is it obvious that I am excited?
